Hi all!

It's been so long I haven't posted anything... You probably wonder what I do in Everland, and here I finally have some photos of the first festival project I was participated with..

It's finally up, after a long 5-months preparation period time, and will be up till next Feb. (only for three month! sob sob..)

It's a story of 'the Nutcracker,' in a giant pop-up book(that is over 22 feet tall,) and the style is somewhat icing-cookie concept.

I found very very interesting work process in Everland, here everyone's directors and everyone's decision makers. I not only had to design all characters/illustrations and come up with the entire colors, but also was teamed up with several people in the entire diff. teams and we had to come up on our own story, do storyboarding, color, design, light, facility safe issue, etc.....! My expectation as being a concept designer who only concentrate on 'designing', was something what others expected as 'do the design that qualifies for all requirements and you only have so short time to complete them because you need to COMPLETE it all the way to installation' type of thing. IT was just such a LONNNGG process and somewhat fun stress, yet we made thru and I still can't believe it's done!

what a strange yet crazy process I experienced in my first work in Korea!

Good news!

I was lucky to participate for a fund raising art show for Ghana, Art Blocks for Ghana .

thanks for the opportunity, I had lots of fun doing it!

The block I was given to paint was 6x6 inch size wooden block, and the theme was 'home.'

I decided to design a giant tree 'home,' where little natures live.

It was fun and very educational work, so thanks to all!

HEY GUYS! MY NEW WEBSITE IS UP!!
It took FOREVER to figure out how to design using coding by dreamweaver, and still it's a very basic look and I have a lot more to add on, (such as accordion jquery..random image jquery..etc @_@) but at least it has got things I need.

Trip to Las Vegas and Arizona 09/28-09/31

I was on a short trip to LV and AZ for three days(!).

I have no idea why but I didn't get to draw people gambling.. ahh such a big miss! but I was able to do a drawing at the Chris Angels show. It was fun trip. It was totally worth going to two MANY different places from Nevada to Arizona. It got me many inspirations.

I wonder how come I didn't get to sketch gamblers or people who plays .. but I was able to sketch the scene of Chris Angels show. It was fun.

Grand Canyon. I was there when I was little, yet never knew it's so beautiful!

Arggggg... since my parents are here to visit me from Korea, I wasn't been able to paint much....
This was done a while ago.. that I post now.. My parents have been here for about three weeks and finally are leaving this weekend!!! I will suffer by emptiness again, but I need to be alone now, to concentrate on my works.
btw,,
It might seem like a day and a night painting, but they both were painted at night at 11pm.
The top was painted with lights on at my veranda, and the one at the bottom was in complete darkness.
The sky looked lighter in dark, and there was an airplane, searching for someone. (!)
A very saturate red color was coming out from a parked car, and I was able to catch colors- but it seems rather TOO saturate and bright.

I've been doing so many things I ever wanted to do since school, ( life is so wonderful : D) and one of them is making my own sketchbook.

but.. still stitching papers together after punching holes is pain in butt... since I don't have right tools, my hands get tired..

I try to follow traditional asian way to glue papers..and I heard they have a method to make glue..(I could be wrong, don't trust me.) it's nothing special- just mix flour powder with water and boil it until it is nice and gluey. don't forget to stir it all the time, otherwise it will burn so easily.

also,putting hard cover and papers is still the hardest part. I either end up breaking hard cover, or it won't open 180degrees. if you have an idea, please let me know...

well, anyway, I was able to complete some books! I wouldn't do this often since it's so much time consuming, but it's fun once in awhile.

I know, it's so random of me posting pics of something other than art works-

but I really wanted to share with you guys-
I cook too (ah, didn't I tell you?) btw, this is my first time making Kimchi- since my parents are not here anymore, I decided to give it a try----- well... I was confident about it before I started, but it..during progress- showed some parts that doesn't suppose to look like it.. anyhow...a week after preservation.. I will know if it's edible for human being or not...to be continued..

Freeday!
At work, there was an all day workshop for interns on last Friday! Hooray Disney!
It was called 'Communication for better results,' and by taking tests you get to evaluate yourself as what type you belong to, and learned how to deal with other types of people at work.
I was an 'expressive' person, which turns out to be most of the students there, but tend to be more amiable and rather listener than talker. But also I'm a driver when I work(which means, you CAN'T bother me when I work- 0_o! ) It turned out to be really fun and educational workshop, and I didn't even realize how time passed by!
of course, all my friends (Kyle, Trevor, Rona, etc) and I were all drawing everyone,,during the entire workshop, lol.
I got to use less lines- it makes people look old : 0

plus, one more 'missing SF' painting.
I really want to go visit again. I really do.

yeah, I don't get to go to much places but work and home- so I eventually have many sketches of my cat.. regardless of any reasons, I won't ever get tired of watching her anyway. <3333!

..and I was going over my photos yesterday and found many nice memories during SF trip.

There are so many amazing places there...esp. beautiful buildings that catches my sight, just like it always has been.
I guess I really am in love with architectures.... In the future, I will learn about architecture-
anyway, It was a building I took a photo in SF., and excuse my lame gouache skill.

I will be painting at Verdugo park on this Sat.!

I have so many places I want to paint on my way to work.

Hello!

It's been awhile since last time I updated my blog.
Starting from last week, I am in an under associate intern position at Disney Consumer Products until June.
So far, everyone is really nice and they are patient with my slow work process (sob, sob.) But, as all know, I push myself hard so eventually I will improve little by little!
Work area is really nice and I love the studio!

And, I added a "Portfolio Page," so I can start posting newer works in here.

seven week long Animal Magic class is over!
We had to present our sketchbook studies and six different animal studies-so called 'finals'
post up on the wall for final presentation.
Things went through well and all classmates enjoyed free taco lunch (that school provided hehe)

also we went to Norm's house to party after class!!!!!! ; )

wow, it has been awhile since l have uploaded last works.
so, l had an AMAZINGLY fun class, a STORYBOARDING CLASS last term, and l have learnt so many things about camera movements, shots, composition, etc.
here is the story beats -one of the assignments we did in class. l chose 'Open Season', one of my favorite animation, that l re-designed the camera angles.
